About the role

As a Customer Service Apprentice, you’ll gain hands‑on experience across key areas of the branch, building the skills needed to deliver excellent service to customers. You will rotate through:

  • Trade Counter – supporting and serving customers face‑to‑face
  • Internal Sales / Office – handling calls, emails, and customer enquiries
  • Warehouse Operations – understanding stock, order fulfilment, and logistics

You’ll learn to:

  • Communicate confidently with customers and colleagues
  • Handle enquiries, orders and problem‑solving effectively
  • Use internal systems and processes
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service in a fast‑paced environment

Apprenticeship details

  • Apprenticeship in Customer Service (Level 2 or 3 depending on experience)
  • Duration: 12–18 months
  • Study and coursework completed during working hours
  • Regular support from a training provider and manager

Requirements

  • Genuine interest in customer service and building a career
  • Enthusiastic, motivated and willing to learn
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Basic IT skills, including Microsoft Office
  • Strong attention to detail and logical thinking
  • Well‑presented and professional approach
  • Able to travel locally
