Job Description:

As an Audio Visual Service Engineer, you will provide field‑based service and support to our clients, working both independently and as part of a service team.

Your role involves servicing and supporting audio-visual, video conferencing, pro-audio, and control equipment. You will be responsible for safe and correct diagnosis of faults, removal, repair, testing, implementation, and operation of all aspects of audio-visual, video-conferencing, display, and presentation technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out preventative maintenance visits and conduct training sessions for end users during these visits.
  • Perform post-implementation fault finding, testing and repair of audio-visual equipment across various job sites.
  • Provide 80% onsite work, with the remainder of the time spent on phone/email technical support, completing post-job and preventative maintenance reports, and product research to meet client requirements.
  • Maintain cleanliness on site and communicate effectively with customers and site contacts, adhering to site rules, procedures, and health and safety protocols.
  • Respond to service desk tickets promptly and be available for ad-hoc onsite technical cover during annual leave or sickness.
  • Continue personal development and remain aware of our IMS and Quality Policy.

Required Experience and Skills

  • At least 4 years of audio-visual experience, specifically in installation, onsite support or technical support.
  • Ability to terminate cables, particularly Cat5/6, RS232 and Audio TRS.
  • Strong understanding of audio-room acoustic optimisation in various environments.
  • Effective communication skills at all levels, especially in client‑facing situations.
  • Good numeracy, written communication and strong organisational abilities to prioritise your workload.
  • Quick response to service desk tickets and the ability to work both individually and as part of a team.
  • Good time‑keeping and professional attire appropriate to the job.
  • Full compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, a clean driving license and a current passport holder.
  • AVIXA CTS certification is essential.
  • Desirable qualifications: Crestron P101, Extron School of AV, Cisco CCIP and Microsoft Teams core skills.
  • Knowledge of networking, particularly identifying issues related to Dante/AES67 concerning QoS/PTP/IGMP.
