Overview

Teaching Assistant – Crawley

£14.24 – £14.50 per hour (salary is dependant on qualifications/experience)

ASAP – Ongoing (permanent)

Vision for Education are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant on a full-time basis for a SEN school in Crawley to start ASAP.

Responsibilities

  • Support in class, in small groups and on a 1:1 basis using behaviour management skills.
  • Help pupils manage their behaviour and support them with learning.
  • Assist pupils aged 4–11 with SEN, including those with EHCPs for SEND and/or SEMH, Autism, ADHD or other associated needs.
  • Create engaging and supportive learning activities that help pupils feel safe, positive and motivated to learn.

Requirements

  • DESIRED: Level 2/3 Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools or Level 2/3 Early Years Educator
  • DESIRED: Able to drive
  • Experience working with young people with SEND, SEMH or challenging behavioural needs is preferred.
  • Confident in behaviour management and de-escalation of threatening or aggressive behaviour.
  • Ability to mentor and engage pupils with specifically designed educational packages.
  • Resilient, empathetic, patient and able to maintain professionalism under pressure.
  • Awareness of safeguarding requirements; Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain) is expected, in line with policy.
