Monitoring Technician – Graduate (Civil/Mechanical/Geology/Engineering Geology) – Oxfordshire, UK
The Role
Assist with the technical and operational delivery of projects representing our client. The work is technical and requires a high level of dexterity to set up and install sensitive instrumentation typically in a busy operational construction site environment. You will have a general understanding of specification compliance and demonstrate record‑keeping skills. The role may involve working away and potentially unsociable hours at short notice to meet project aims. Travel across the UK is required, with generous on‑site allowances.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Undertake projects in accordance with H&S and operational aims of the project
- Assist with preparing and installing instrumentation including fibre optics
- Gain an appreciation of the dataloggers and how to set them up
- Protect and maintain sensitive monitoring equipment
- Assist in meeting all project deadlines
- Assist colleagues with drafting H&S documents
- Assist in completing site diaries and instrumentation records accurately and promptly
Functional Responsibilities
- Promote the company’s SHEQ and culture
- Protect the company’s intellectual property
- Deliver projects that meet SHEQ and technical aims
- Understand how to maintain relationships with clients
Requirements
- BSc degree level qualification in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, etc.) / Geology / Engineering Geology
- Appreciation of health and safety matters
- Good communication and organisational skills
- UK driving licence
- Basic Microsoft Office IT skills
- CSCS card – preferred
