Data Support Officer

North East Lincolnshire Council is seeking a Data Support Officer to join the Data & Insights team on an 18‑month fixed‑term, full‑time contract.

Do you have a passion for using data to make a real difference in education and SEND services, and are you skilled in using tools like Excel and databases to validate, clean and analyse data?

The role:

As part of the Data & Insights team you will collect, collate and analyse data and information for education and SEND services. You will work with a wide range of sources and systems across the council and its partners, ensuring that information is accessible and of high quality for analysts and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities:

  • Collate and gather information from diverse sources and systems.
  • Ensure data is clean, complete and of high quality for internal and external users.
  • Undertake data processing, validation, error checking and system testing.
  • Perform ad‑hoc data analysis as required.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including schools, to produce Government Data Returns.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Experience working with data in a large, complex organisation.
  • Proficiency with databases and tools such as Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail for quality assurance and data cleaning.
  • Knowledge of information governance principles.
  • Experience in a school environment (Administration, Data, Teaching or Mentoring) is an advantage.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Effective communication skills to present data to diverse audiences.
