About the Role

Qualiteach Yorkshire is looking for an experienced Secondary Teaching Assistant for a school in Leeds. The role may involve working with children who have moderate and complex learning and behaviour needs. The setting is a school looking for someone with a range of experience to join their team ASAP.

Responsibilities

• Work with children on a 1:1 and group basis who have a variety of needs, tailoring learning to suit them.
• Work within a team and help build a comfortable environment for all children and staff, supporting challenging behaviour, SEN requirements and complex medical needs.
• Follow care plans, EHCPs, Pupil Passports and other relevant documents where necessary.
• Use a holistic approach within a multi-disciplinary team of specialists.
• May include carrying out individual interventions to aid children’s learning.

Qualifications and Experience

• Experience of working with children who have complex needs.
• A willingness to jump in and help where necessary.
• A positive role model and influence.
• Ability to support challenging behaviour, encourage independence and patience and willingness to build long lasting relationships with pupils.
• Good awareness of safeguarding procedures.
