About the Role
- Deliver individual and small‑group ELSA interventions to support pupils’ emotional wellbeing
- Help children develop emotional literacy, resilience, self‑esteem and positive coping strategies
- Support pupils experiencing anxiety, friendship difficulties, bereavement, emotional regulation challenges and low confidence
- Work closely with the SENCO, class teachers and pastoral team to implement targeted support plans
- Build positive, trusting relationships that enable pupils to thrive both emotionally and academically
- Monitor pupil progress and contribute to reviews and support planning
The Ideal Candidate
- Holds a recognised ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) qualification
- Has experience supporting primary‑aged pupils with SEMH or emotional wellbeing needs
- Is calm, patient, compassionate and an excellent listener
- Can build strong professional relationships with pupils, families and colleagues
- Is passionate about promoting positive mental health and removing barriers to learning
