Job Overview
As a Maintenance Compliance Technician, you will be a key driver of adherence to regulation and best practice for the maintenance team and associated process group. Your role will focus on co‑ordination and review of safety practices, driving improvements through project leadership, and representing the maintenance department for Built‑In Safety (BIS) processes.
Responsibilities
- Create, maintain and review standard work documentation for safe working procedures for the maintenance department and wider process group.
- Drive safe‑work systems and documented procedures for the storage of hazardous substances, including conducting an annual review.
- Represent, review and update key metrics and performance indicators related to BIS strategies and plan associated audits.
- Provide technical assistance and apply safety and regulatory compliance knowledge to the maintenance department and wider process group.
- Act as the key liaison with company insurers regarding assets owned by the maintenance department and wider process group, coordinating corrective actions.
- Assist and consult on planning of projects and major activities such as shutdown periods and other key site projects.
- Support maintenance planning functions to ensure best practices are followed and use available data to support business decisions.
Qualifications & Experience
- HNC or equivalent experience preferable, or currently working towards this standard.
- Knowledge of relevant statutory regulations and recommended best practice, including COSHH, DSEAR/COMPEX, confined spaces and working at height.
- Experience in coordinating activities and actions leading to the completion of improvements that solidify key performance indicators.
- Experience working with insurance companies and external parties to maintain compliance.
- Experience designing and creating process instructions, standard work and risk assessments.
- Skills in interrogating data systems to produce repeatable reports displaying key performance data.
- Experience with contractor management and permitting.
- Project management experience and relevant qualifications.
- Experience in different forms of engineering and manufacturing practices, IOSH Managing Safely.
- Team‑working ability to deliver complex projects.

- Salary: starting £37,900, rising to £42,000 once fully competent.
