Job Description

Hours of work: 37 hours per week.

Working pattern: Full-time.

We are looking for a qualified Nursery Assistant to join our friendly team at Claverham Day Nursery in Battle, East Sussex.

We provide a safe, stimulating, and fun environment where children can explore, learn, and grow. The role requires an NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or a relevant equivalent qualification.

Responsibilities

• Engage children through a range of play‑based activities that support their physical, intellectual and emotional development.
• Work with the supervisor to create an exciting and purposeful learning environment.
• Act as a key worker, forming a close, caring relationship with allocated children and communicating with parents and carers.
• Collaborate closely with other EYFS team members and remain flexible.
• Pursue continuing professional development.

Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 in Childcare and Education or equivalent.
• Excellent Early Years practitioner skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain).

• Position is subject to an enhanced DBS check.
• Must not be disqualified under the Childcare Disqualification Regulations 2018; a self‑declaration will be required.
