About the role
As a Wellbeing and Activities Assistant, you will support the Wellbeing Coordinator in providing a wide range of activities to engage and stimulate residents’ physical, cognitive, and social well‑being.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a safe living and working environment and contribute to the positive image of the home.
- Report any changes in residents’ physical or emotional condition to the Wellbeing Coordinator, Home Manager and care staff.
- Order and prepare supplies for upcoming activities as directed.
- Establish links with the local community (e.g., schools, spiritual groups, museums/libraries) to encourage access to the wider community and promote intergenerational activity.
Qualifications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Understanding of how role interaction contributes to general well‑being.
- Positive attitude toward older people and commitment to providing stimulating, quality activities and social events.
- Previous experience working with older people in a residential nursing or dementia setting.
Employment requirements
- Disclosure and Barring Service check (cost covered by Avery Healthcare).
- Proof of eligibility to work in the UK.
