Responsibilities
- Ensure the safe use of medical devices across the Trust.
- Carry out acceptance testing, servicing, and repair of complex medical equipment and devices.
- Participate in workshop rotas and timetables, and maintain accurate, timely records of all completed work in the equipment management information technology system.
- Undertake training to develop skills and keep up with evolving role requirements.
- Provide training to clinical staff in the use of medical equipment when required.
- Maintain, test, repair, calibrate, and dispose of medical equipment, including fault diagnosis and safety checks.
- Provide technical advice and support to clinical staff, including training when required.
- Liaise with suppliers and contribute to equipment evaluation and incident investigations.
- Service and repair equipment in clinical areas and provide on-site support.
- Maintain accurate records using IT systems and ensure data quality.
- Follow and improve quality procedures and manage workload and maintenance schedules.
- Comply with health and safety requirements, identify risks, and support safe working practices.
- Assist with equipment movement and uphold confidentiality, Trust policies, and professional standards.
