Position Overview
We are looking for a Clinical Care Navigator to support the GP service in the Urgent Treatment Centre located in Emergency Care. You will work in a busy environment and may assist the Accident & Emergency Department.
Core Responsibilities
- Provide delegated clinical procedures such as insertion/removal of cannula, venepuncture, wound assessment, simple dressings, and removal of urinary catheter.
- Act as front‑line clinical and clerical support, facilitating the patient journey through the Urgent Treatment Centre.
- Document care episodes and vital observations on electronic systems and recognise when escalation to a registered professional is required.
- Accept induction and mandatory Trust training, and share knowledge with the team.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum GCSE English and Maths grade C/4 or equivalent functional skills, or willingness to work toward Care Certificate.
- At least 5 GCSE grades 4/C or above, or equivalent.
- Relevant experience in Health or Social Care, delivering personal care or working in NHS settings.
- Evidence of mandatory training: Basic Life Support, manual handling, infection control, fire safety and other statutory skills.
- Training or competence in cannulation, wound care, ECG and basic physiological recording.
- Good communication skills and ability to work under the guidance of a registered professional without direct supervision.
