Commercial Officer

Working location: Bristol/Hybrid

You will build relationships and influence across the organisation, shaping commercial deals to balance risk and reward for a culturally diverse range of customers.

We are looking for individuals with analytical skills, sound business judgement, clear communication, and a willingness to learn.

Key Responsibilities

  • Empower capture teams to win and deliver better business by supporting the development of accurate, timely and innovative contractual solutions with our customers and partners.
  • Draft and negotiate contract terms with customers using appropriate techniques, strategies and engaging the right subject matter experts.
  • Identify potential risks and liabilities in concepts, proposals and contracts and implement appropriate means to manage them.
  • Instruct and administer new and existing business agreements providing trusted advice and guidance to ensure understanding of Rolls-Royce and customer obligations and contract points.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Sound business and commercial acumen, ability to interpret commercial issues and understand the commercial components of deals and how to influence them.
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing to a range of audiences.
  • Collaborates well in a team environment, building relationships across the business and working collaboratively with other business areas and corporate functions.
  • Previous commercial and contracting experience would be advantageous.

To work for the Rolls-Royce Defence business, an individual must hold a Security Check clearance. Rolls-Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if you do not already have it. The business only progresses applications from UK nationals or, in MoD approved cases, dual nationals.
