We’re looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Fabrication & Welding Teacher to join our Construction, Engineering & Motor Vehicle team in Barnstaple, whether you’re already teaching or you’re an experienced industry professional ready to pass on your expertise, this is your opportunity to turn your passion for fabrication and welding into a rewarding career that changes lives.

From MIG and TIG to fabrication projects and workshop skills, you’ll inspire learners to develop the technical knowledge, practical skills and confidence they need to succeed in industry.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Deliver engaging lessons that bring fabrication and welding to life
  • Create practical learning experiences that prepare students for real-world careers
  • Support learners to achieve their goals and reach their full potential
  • Work alongside industry partners and colleagues to keep the curriculum relevant and exciting
  • Develop innovative teaching resources and learning materials
  • Act as a mentor, coach and role model for your students
  • Promote safe working practices and professional workshop standards

We’re Looking For Someone Who…

  • Holds a qualification in Fabrication, Welding, Engineering or a closely related subject (degree level or equivalent)
  • Has strong industry knowledge and practical experience
  • Can communicate confidently with learners, colleagues and employers
  • Is organised, proactive and passionate about helping others succeed
  • Has a teaching qualification or is willing to work towards one

Even Better If You Have…

  • Previous teaching, training or assessment experience
  • Knowledge of further education
  • Experience working with awarding bodies or verification processes
