Job Details

Salary £26,300 per annum.

Permanent, full time (37.5 hours per week). Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.

Location: Durham and Wearside. We can’t offer a Certificate of Sponsorship for this role.

Responsibilities

• Perform minor or emergency repairs, decorating, and cleaning in properties and communal areas.
• Handle tasks such as hanging curtain poles, moving furniture, touch‑ups, changing washers, unblocking sinks, mowing lawns, and clearing grounds.
• Carry out regular fire safety checks.
• Work with colleagues, contractors, and customers.
• Liaise with the Customer Service Centre and contractors to report and follow up on repairs outside your remit.

Qualifications

• Team player with a can‑do attitude and enthusiasm.
• General maintenance knowledge, basic carpentry, plumbing, and comfort with a paintbrush or broom.
• Comfortable working and communicating with people from all walks of life.
• Ability to use technology for updating records, training, emails, and taking photographs.
• To travel between sites, you’ll need a vehicle insured for business purposes – a Home Group vehicle will be provided.
• Standard DBS check (covered by the employer).

Practical Bits

• Primary schedule: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with flexibility to meet customer needs.
• Based at Clarence Court, Spennymoor, with travel around local properties in Durham and Sunderland.
• Occasional travel outside the immediate area for all‑hands‑on‑deck situations.
• Standard DBS check to be paid by the employer.
