Senior Software Engineering Manager

Salary: £62,000 – 102,000 per year

Requirements

• We need experience leading and supporting multi‑disciplined engineering teams to achieve business goals
• We need the ability to make technical trade‑offs between short‑term team needs and long‑term business needs
• We need a strong passion for recruiting and developing great engineering talent
• We need the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate across engineering to maximise inner‑sourcing opportunities and reduce waste
• Previous experience working with cloud technologies and AWS is advantageous
• Previous experience solving real‑world problems in a complex regulated environment is advantageous

Responsibilities

• We support a cross‑functional group of 3 to 4 engineering teams to design, develop and integrate software features that improve the lives of credit card consumers
• We coach and nurture our engineering managers so they can build, empower and operate teams to achieve their goals
• We collaborate with product managers and designers on the overall product roadmap for a key business goal
• We provide stewardship of the platform and capabilities created and owned by our teams
• We contribute to our engineering leadership team by defining and adopting best practices
• We play a lead role in shaping our teams culture, vision and how they achieve it
• We work with associates across the business to identify, lead and drive change beyond our team
