School Youth Worker

School Youth Worker (full time, temporary) – Stockport.

£100 – £120 per day PAYE, dependent on experience and qualifications.

Start date: September 2026.

Role Overview

Support students with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs by providing pastoral, behavioural and emotional support in the classroom and through targeted interventions. Aim to help students re‑engage with education, develop positive relationships and build the skills needed to succeed beyond school.

Requirements

• Experience supporting children, young people or vulnerable adults, particularly within SEMH, challenging behaviour or youth justice settings.
• A calm, resilient and adaptable approach to supporting pupils with complex emotional and behavioural needs.
• Strong empathy, communication and relationship‑building skills, with a proactive and reliable attitude.
• A genuine commitment to improving young people’s wellbeing and educational outcomes in a school or alternative provision environment.
