Overview

HC-One is looking for an Assistant Chef with at least a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate and a good understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP). You should bring a positive energy, be organised, able to meet deadlines, present food attractively, and follow recipes precisely. You will communicate with Residents and co-workers with kindness and care.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the First Chef and take charge in their absence
  • Prepare and serve nutritious, healthy meals that Residents will enjoy
  • Manage food stock and contribute to budgeting and cost control
  • Coach a colleague and supervise kitchen cleanup to maintain safety and hygiene
  • Prioritise Resident wellbeing in all tasks
  • Follow safeguarding procedures; recognise signs of potential abuse, harm, or neglect and know how to respond
  • Attend safeguarding training appropriate to the role and undertake additional related training
  • Report concerns through appropriate channels, including escalation if action is not taken

Qualifications

  • Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP)
  • Ability to work with Residents and co-workers in a kind and respectful manner
  • Organised with the ability to meet deadlines and follow recipes
  • Willingness to participate in safeguarding training and related development

Additional Information

Part-time role (27 hours per week).
