An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 3 Health Care Assistant to join the Paediatric Inpatient Ward at Blackpool Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
This role involves supporting fundamental care needs, assisting with clinical observations and procedures within agreed competencies, and contributing to a safe, welcoming and therapeutic environment for children and their families.
The post holder works under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse and will support parents and carers, recognise and respond to children’s physical and emotional needs, and escalates concerns appropriately.
Key Responsibilities
- Support fundamental care needs such as personal care, nutrition, comfort and safety.
- Undertake clinical observations and basic procedures within agreed competencies.
- Maintain accurate documentation.
- Escalate concerns appropriately and work closely with the multidisciplinary team.
- Assist in creating a safe and welcoming ward environment and promote positive patient experience.
- Prior experience in a caring or healthcare setting, with a passion for working with children and families.
