Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician – Combustion to join our engineering team on a 3‑month fixed‑term contract covering healthcare sites across North Yorkshire. The role focuses on gas and combustion systems, ensuring safe, compliant and operational healthcare buildings.
Responsibilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance and reactive repairs on combustion and gas systems.
- Service, maintain and repair commercial and domestic gas installations.
- Diagnose faults and undertake remedial works to ensure service continuity.
- Maintain statutory compliance and ensure work is completed to industry and NHS standards.
- Complete maintenance records and compliance documentation accurately.
- Identify and report hazards, defects and asset‑related risks.
- Work closely with colleagues, contractors and site stakeholders to deliver an excellent maintenance service.
- Travel between NHS sites across North Yorkshire as required.
Qualifications
- Qualified and experienced combustion engineer with strong technical knowledge of commercial and domestic gas systems.
- Domestic & commercial gas qualifications: CCN1, CENWAT, HTR1, CPA1, COCN1/CODNCO1, CIGA1, TPCP1A.
- NVQ Level 3 in Plumbing & Heating or equivalent.
- Relevant combustion/gas competencies and certifications appropriate to the role.
