Job Overview

Production Inspection Operative (Shift Patroller) – Tunstead Quarry, Buxton, Derbyshire. Commute from Manchester, Sheffield, Stockport, Macclesfield, Chesterfield, Stoke‑on‑Trent and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

• Patrol stone processing plants to monitor performance and identify issues early.
• Act quickly on faults to minimise downtime and maintain output.
• Support operators in achieving shift KPIs.
• Carry out planned and proactive inspections.
• Assist with mechanical maintenance and fault finding.
• Ensure conveyor systems and plant equipment are operating safely and efficiently.
• Complete clear and accurate shift reports.
• Work to the highest safety standards, contributing to a zero‑harm environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in an industrial, manufacturing or heavy plant environment.
• Strong safety‑first attitude.
• Confidence working independently and as part of a team.
• Proactive, problem‑solving mindset.
• IT and basic report‑writing skills.
• Knowledge of crushing, screening or washing processes (advantageous).
• Experience with mobile or fixed plant equipment (advantageous).
• Basic mechanical understanding and fault‑finding skills (advantageous).
• Familiarity with maintenance systems and reporting (advantageous).

Shift Pattern

4 on (2 days / 2 nights) / 4 off rotation. Overtime available.
