Production Planner (Manufacturing) – Newton Abbot

£30,000 – £35,000 DOE, Monday – Friday, Permanent.

Take the lead in driving efficient, high‑quality production. As a proactive planner with a passion for manufacturing, you will coordinate schedules, ensure materials are available, and help the business deliver on time and to the highest standards.

Overview

Working closely with multiple departments, you will be at the heart of operations, supporting continuous improvement and production success. The role is based with a well‑established manufacturing company known for its commitment to innovation, quality, and teamwork.

Key Duties

• Develop and manage production schedules aligned with customer demand and operational efficiency.
• Ensure labour and materials are available, identifying and addressing any shortages.
• Review bills of materials and raw material stock levels to prevent disruption.
• Track and report on manufacturing progress, ensuring deadlines are met and issues are communicated.
• Review supplier and production performance, making recommendations for improvement.
• Resolve scheduling conflicts and adjust plans to maximise output.
• Generate and analyse key production KPIs, supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Diploma or degree in supply chain, operations, engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in a production planning or coordination role.
• Proven experience using ERP/MRP systems.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and techniques.
