Technician

Overview

A Mobile Building Engineer provides on-site technical support, maintenance, and engineering services across multiple building locations within a designated geographic area. This role combines hands‑on technical expertise with travel requirements to ensure optimal building operations and tenant satisfaction.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems across assigned properties.
• Conduct routine inspections of building equipment including boilers, chillers, generators, elevators, and fire safety systems.
• Monitor and optimize building performance to ensure energy efficiency and cost‑effectiveness.
• Respond to urgent maintenance requests and emergency calls across multiple sites.
• Diagnose equipment failures and implement immediate solutions to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs.
• Maintain emergency contact protocols and after‑hours response capabilities.
• Ensure all building systems comply with local codes, regulations, and safety standards.
• Conduct safety inspections and maintain required documentation.
• Manage environmental compliance, including waste management and hazardous materials handling.
• Maintain current certifications and licenses as required by jurisdiction.
• Complete detailed work orders, maintenance logs, and inspection reports.
• Track equipment performance data and recommend capital improvements.
• Maintain accurate inventory of tools, parts, and supplies across locations.
• Provide regular status updates to property management teams.

Qualifications

• 3‑5 years of building maintenance or facilities management experience.
• Experience with commercial building systems and equipment.
• Knowledge of building automation systems and energy management.
• Previous mobile or multi‑site experience preferred.
• Proficiency in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and building management systems (BMS).
