Overview
A Mobile Building Engineer provides on-site technical support, maintenance, and engineering services across multiple building locations within a designated geographic area. This role combines hands‑on technical expertise with travel requirements to ensure optimal building operations and tenant satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems across assigned properties.
- Conduct routine inspections of building equipment including boilers, chillers, generators, elevators, and fire safety systems.
- Monitor and optimize building performance to ensure energy efficiency and cost‑effectiveness.
- Respond to urgent maintenance requests and emergency calls across multiple sites.
- Diagnose equipment failures and implement immediate solutions to minimize downtime.
- Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs.
- Maintain emergency contact protocols and after‑hours response capabilities.
- Ensure all building systems comply with local codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Conduct safety inspections and maintain required documentation.
- Manage environmental compliance, including waste management and hazardous materials handling.
- Maintain current certifications and licenses as required by jurisdiction.
- Complete detailed work orders, maintenance logs, and inspection reports.
- Track equipment performance data and recommend capital improvements.
- Maintain accurate inventory of tools, parts, and supplies across locations.
- Provide regular status updates to property management teams.
Qualifications
- 3‑5 years of building maintenance or facilities management experience.
- Experience with commercial building systems and equipment.
- Knowledge of building automation systems and energy management.
- Previous mobile or multi‑site experience preferred.
- Proficiency in HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and building management systems (BMS).
