Court of Protection Solicitor

A Top Tier law firm based in Manchester City Centre is looking for a Court of Protection Solicitor to join its specialist Private Client team.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a firm with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality legal services to vulnerable clients. The successful candidate will work on a varied and rewarding caseload, supporting individuals who lack capacity and helping to safeguard their financial affairs.
The Role
You will manage your own caseload of Court of Protection matters while working closely with experienced colleagues on more complex cases.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a caseload of Court of Protection deputyship matters
- Preparing and progressing applications to the Court of Protection
- Acting for professional and lay deputies
- Advising clients, attorneys, deputies and family members on capacity-related matters
- Managing clients’ financial affairs, including property, investments and statutory reporting
- Preparing annual reports for the Office of the Public Guardian
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Qualified Solicitor in England & Wales
- Previous experience handling Court of Protection matters, ideally within a specialist Court of Protection or Private Client team
- Strong knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Court of Protection procedures
- Excellent communication and client care skills, with a compassionate and professional approach
