Role Overview

We’re recruiting a Psychology Assistant to join our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) service at Milton Keynes City Council. You’ll play a key role in helping children and young people overcome barriers to learning and development. You’ll support the delivery of psychology‑based interventions and contribute to improving wellbeing through early intervention and prevention. This is a rewarding opportunity to work alongside Educational Psychologists, supporting schools, families and children across Milton Keynes. You’ll help ensure that children and young people receive the right support at the right time, making a meaningful difference to their lives.

Site‑Based role. Expected to work from the designated workplace.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the delivery of psychology‑based interventions to children and young people with SEND.
  • Assist Educational Psychologists in evaluating and implementing support plans for schools and families.
  • Contribute to early intervention and prevention strategies to improve wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with partners, services and communities to promote system‑wide change.
  • Ensure support aligns with local needs and national expectations.

Qualifications & Experience

Required and desirable qualifications are not listed; however, applicants should have a background in psychology or a related field and be able to work in a collaborative, child‑focused environment.
