About the Role
This is a role within the Castrol organisation. The successful candidate will become part of the Castrol ring‑fence and is expected to move with Castrol to new ownership. The role involves executing projects that develop new lubricants for market deployment, working autonomously, managing budgets, networking globally to meet customer requirements, and sharing expertise within the Product Development team.

Key Accountabilities
- Execute and deliver a range of development and test programmes to ensure new products can be introduced to market and to understand any impacts observed. This requires effective planning, execution and documentation of results so that key milestones are delivered on time and on budget.
- Manage budgets ranging from $50,000 to $1,000,000 and accurately manage costs and forecasts.
- Build effective networks with subject‑matter experts and operational staff within the technology function to facilitate programme delivery. These networks include product testing, deployment, quality, stewardship, intellectual assets and research and innovation.
- Build effective networks outside the technology function to include suppliers of goods and services, technical consultancies, OEMs, Castrol marketing and Castrol Legal.
- Regularly communicate and review programme progress with the wider project team.
- Develop and share expertise to facilitate continuous improvement within the Product Development team.
Education Requirements
- Degree or equivalent in chemistry, engineering or a related technical discipline.
Experience and Job Requirements
- Demonstrated track record in delivering projects passionate about product development, engineering or research.
- Demonstrate a collaborative approach to working.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills.
- Demonstrated proficiency in designing novel work programmes.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in lubricants, additives or automotive/manufacturing industries is advantageous.
- Knowledge and experience of product development processes, fuels and lubricants technology, mechanical engineering or related disciplines.
- Good knowledge of automotive, manufacturing and/or systems engineering.

Travel Requirement: Up to 25% travel is expected.
