A Fantastic Opportunity: Street Works Administration Assistant

As a Street Works Administration Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting SP Electricity North West’s commitment to achieving excellence in street works.

The role is responsible for ensuring the timely and accurate administration of street works activities, helping to minimise financial penalties, maintain compliance, and protect the company’s reputation with local authorities, customers, and stakeholders.

Working closely with operational teams, contractors, local authorities, and internal stakeholders, the post holder will manage a range of street works administrative processes to support efficient delivery and compliance with the New Roads and Street Works Act.

The successful candidate must, at the start of employment have permission to work in the UK without sponsorship.

For this role there is also opportunity for agile working following completion of your probationary period.

What we’re looking for

We welcome applications from individuals with diverse backgrounds and experiences who meet the following criteria:

  • Administrative experience – previous experience in an administrative role managing multiple tasks accurately and efficiently
  • Street works legislation – knowledge of NRSWA, TMA, SROH, Safety at Street Works Code of Practice, and associated legislation/codes of practice
  • Street works systems – experience using street works management systems such as Symology Aurora and Street Manager
  • Rota availability – ability to work weekends and bank holidays as part of a planned rota
  • Agile working – ability to work independently within an agile working environment while maintaining productivity and accountability
  • Workload prioritisation – ability to prioritise workloads effectively in both large and small operational teams
  • Operational flexibility – ability to respond to changing priorities, business needs, and operational demands
  • Stakeholder communication – capability to produce clear communication and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • IT proficiency – good working knowledge of IT systems, Microsoft Office applications, and mobile technology
  • Pressure accuracy – ability to work accurately under pressure and meet challenging deadlines
  • Record quality – commitment to maintaining accurate, high‑quality administrative records
