Steel Fabricator

Overview

Pay: 18.12-36.24 per hour. Location: Bury, Greater Manchester. This is a full-time position. A drug and alcohol test will be conducted on the first day of employment.

Hours: 37 hours per week, day shift (7:00 am to 4:45 pm, Monday to Thursday). Overtime is available (time and a half for extra hours in the week and Saturdays; double time for Sundays).

Responsibilities

• Work as a Steel Fabricator/Plater on complex fabrications from engineers’ drawings.
• Set up jobs, mark out for jigs, and use hand tools and burning equipment.
• Work from technical drawings and learn total station.
• Work as part of a team or independently as required.
• Adhere to health and safety practices and wear correct PPE at all times.

Qualifications

• Time-served Plater/Steel Fabricator or Apprentice trained / NVQ 3 (or equivalent).
• Competent in working from technical drawings; heavy plate experience preferred.
• Experience in fabrication: 4 years (preferred).
• Ability to commute or relocate to Bury, Greater Manchester (before starting work).
