Main duties of the jobAll our CAMHS teams have a wide mix of skills and experience in their multi‑disciplinary teams and enthusiastic, supportive colleagues – so you’d be joining a friendly, highly skilled and cohesive environment. The Consultants across CAMHS meet regularly for academic, professional and social support with a well‑respected training scheme for trainees placed across the services.

It goes without saying that you’ll be expected to take part in frontline work and/or on call though, with a large increase in consultant numbers, we anticipate you’ll still have the capacity to make use of the facilities of our large University Hospital and have the time to make the most of working and living.

To start with, job plans will initially consist of 8 PAs comprising 5 PAs direct clinical care and 3 PAs supporting professional activities That said, we are flexible about the composition of the clinical part of the job plan. Each job plan will be reviewed annually by the Clinical Director.

Holds and will use valid UK driving license or provides evidence of proposed alternative

Qualifications

MBBS or equivalent medical qualification

Qualification or higher degree in medical education, clinical research or education

MRCPsych or MRCPsyh equivalent approved by Royal College of Psychiatrists

Fully registered with GMC with a license to practice at the time of appointment

Included on GMC Specialist register or within 6 months

Approved Clinician status or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment

Approved under S12 or able to achieve within 3 months of appointment

In good standing with GMC with respect to warning and conditions on practice

Clinical Skills, Knowledge and Experience

Excellent knowledge of specialty

Excellent knowledge using bio‑psych‑social perspective and wide medical knowledge

Excellent written and oral communication skills in English

Able to manage clinical complexity and uncertainty

Makes decisions based on evidence and experience including the contribution of others

Able to meet duties under MHA and MCA

Wide range of specialist and sub specialists experience relevant to post within NHS or comparable service

Academic skills& Lifelong Learning

Able to deliver undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training

Participated in continuous professional development

Participated in research or service evaluation

Able to use and appraise clinical evidence
