HGV Class 1 Temp Drivers

Driver Hire Huddersfield are currently looking for Category C+E – Class 1 HGV Drivers to join us working alongside prestigious clients based throughout the Kirklees areas of Huddersfield, Brighouse, Holmfirth and Meltham. These roles are for temporary and ad‑hoc bookings assisting clients covering holiday and sickness and increasing business demands. Most clients are looking for a minimum 1 year’s worth of experience on this entitlement.

Role

• Trunking work, curtainsiders, flatbeds and tail lift experience
• Perform checks on the vehicle and the load before setting off
• Ensure that the vehicle and its cargo get to their destination safely
• Liaise with customers at the point of delivery
• Some nights out may be required, although day work can be offered if night work is an issue
• Comfortable with lifting and safe loading; some non‑driving duties such as loading and unloading the vehicle may be required

Requirements

• Possession of a Category C+E (Class 1) UK driving licence
• Current CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
• Right to work in the UK
• No more than 6 points on the driving licence for minor traffic offences
