The role is within the Estates Delivery discipline of UK Defence Operations, supporting high‑quality Estates Maintenance services through planned and responsive activities.
Day‑to‑day duties include providing multi‑skilled maintenance services primarily related to building fabric, such as replacing ceiling tiles, blinds, lock changes, minor door repairs, unblocking drains, conducting descales, L8 flushing, decorating, PAT testing, and other required tasks.
Responsibilities
- Operate autonomously to deliver a high‑quality business service with moderate supervision, following defined procedures.
- Resolve standard queries and appropriately escales more complex issues.
- Communicate with tact and diplomacy, delivering accurate messages to relevant parties promptly.
- Identify and communicate improvement opportunities, supporting continuous improvement projects.
- Participate in the on‑call rota within the Maintenance Team when required.
- Develop professional and technical competence through structured learning and work assignments.
Essential Experience
- Extensive experience in multi‑skilled maintenance (installations, planned, preventive & corrective) across site services, plant/equipment, and buildings.
- Specialist building fabric/system support and services, maintaining knowledge of building and energy standards.
- Implementation and application of robust health, safety & environmental procedures.
- Quality control experience to ensure maintenance standards meet required levels.
- Experience ensuring key assets are available and properly maintained; making recommendations for improvements.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and related IT applications.
Essential Qualifications
- Level 3 NVQ in a vocational field or equivalent recent relevant experience.
- Full driving licence.
Travel to other QinetiQ and customer sites will be expected.
