Main Duties and Responsibilities

Read and understand engineering drawings

Supervise the machine during operation

Load and unload various cuts of material to suit the job

Carry out inspections on finished products

Place all components on pallets and label accordingly

Carry out routine maintenance and calibration of machines

Ensure compliance to all general site Rules, Regulations, Policies & Procedures

Any other duties as required by management to suit business needs.

Adherence to our ISO 9001 Quality management system.

Carry out all tasks within the department to meet production demand

Adherence to company health and safety procedures.

Personal Specifications

Previous experience working in a Cutting Shop/Machine Shop

Knowledge of operating CNC Machines

Must have knowledge of various types of steel and tensity.

Must be able to read and understand engineering drawings

Has proven literacy and numeracy skills

Communication – Able to communicate problems/issues at all team members

Initiative – Ability to work on their own or as part of their team

Versatility/Adaptability – Ability to adjust to change e.g. job machine/process

Problem Solving – Ability to fault find, trouble shoot, diagnose and resolve issues

Quality – Comply with quality regulations & standards, attention to detail

Available to work flexible hours when required with notice

Ability to work in an environment that is fluid with constantly changing priorities.

Strong communication skills

A “Can do” resilient attitude and ability to interact with a multi-functional team.

Able to assess workload and commit to realistic timeline.

  • Assemble a variety of different components in the Finishing end of production according to customer specification.
  • Experience in AC/DC electrics, pneumatics, hydraulics.
  • Quality check your own work and that of colleagues.
  • Experience using hand, air and electric tools to complete tasks.
  • Working on own initiative and as part of a team
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
  • Liaise on an on-going basis with Supervisors, Managers, and team members.
  • Comply with company policies and legal guidelines.
  • Help maintain a safe and orderly work environment.
  • Any other duties as required by the production manager to suit business needs.

Experience & Qualifications:

Experience in fitting, assembly, manufacturing, engineering, mechanics.

Experience of handheld tools

Ability to assemble consistently to a high standard.

Able to trouble shoot and solve problems.

A ‘can do’ attitude and ability to interact with a multifunctional team.

Desirable

Ideally you will have knowledge of mains AC and automotive DC electrical and hydraulic schematics and significant experience of electrical fault finding and diagnostics within a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge of Ground Support Equipment would be advantageous as well as hydraulic pumps and valves.
