Electrical Estimator

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a reputable and growing electrical engineering business who are now hiring for an Electrical Estimator on a full-time permanent basis.

About

As the Electrical Estimator, you will be responsible for the preparation of detailed and compliant tender submissions across a range of sectors including commercial, residential, & hospitality/leisure.

Duties

• Review and analyse tender documentation, including drawings, specifications, schedules, and associated project information, to prepare accurate and commercially competitive estimates.
• Prepare, compile, and submit tender bids within prescribed timescales and client requirements.
• Engage with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive, compliant, and commercially advantageous quotations.
• Identify and evaluate value engineering opportunities to enhance project efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Attend and contribute to mid-tender, tender adjudication, and post-tender review meetings as required.
• Collaborate closely with the pre-construction and project delivery teams to ensure a seamless handover of successful tenders to Contracts Managers and operational teams.
• Maintain awareness of market conditions, material costs, labour rates, and industry developments to support accurate estimating activities.

Criteria

• Proven experience in an Electrical Estimator role or a similar estimating position within the electrical contracting industry.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical installations, systems, and construction methodologies, ideally supported by a completed electrical apprenticeship and/or HNC/HND qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications, with experience using electrical estimating software; knowledge of Trimble estimating software would be advantageous.
• Strong commercial acumen with excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Effective organisational, planning, and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tenders and deadlines simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients, suppliers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.
