We’re looking for a Retail Team Member to welcome visitors to The Bull Pen Gallery at Cotehele, to answer their questions and help them make the most of their day.
Salary: £12.75 per hour
Contract/duration: Permanent
Hours: 250 hours per year, based on annualised hours. Your salary will be paid in 12 equal instalments. This role will include some weekend working.

The Bull Pen Gallery works with local artists to display and sell their works, creating exhibitions and monthly workshops. It is a beautiful space that celebrates local creativity, often inspired by the surrounding landscapes. The Tudor mansion is situated high above the River Tamar, with Dartmoor National Park and unspoilt beaches nearby. The team prides itself on providing superb customer service, and the family atmosphere among the 65‑member team makes Cotehele a very special place to work. Due to its location, you may need your own transport to get here.
What you’ll be doing
As a member of the Gallery team, you’ll offer visitors help and advice with their shopping, maintain high standards of presentation in the Bull Pen Gallery, and provide excellent service to all customers.
You’ll also discuss how purchases help fund National Trust work. Additional duties may include arranging, receiving, and unpacking deliveries; creating shop displays; and cooperating with team members to keep the shop floor clean and organised.
