Job Description:

Bureau Technical Services are seeking multiple Senior Design Engineers to join a major Net Zero infrastructure project based in Teesside.

This isn’t a traditional design role. Instead, you’ll be reviewing designs, challenging them, and ensuring they can actually be built, playing a key role in how projects are delivered on site.

Responsibilities:

  • Review designs across structural, geotechnical and temporary works
  • Ensure designs are buildable and aligned with construction methods
  • Identify risks early and drive resolution before they become issues
  • Lead design reviews and provide technical assurance across projects
  • Work closely with delivery, pre-construction and external consultants
  • Act as a technical authority within the team

Requirements:

  • Strong experience in temporary works and/or ground engineering
  • Background in steel structures or concrete (foundations, heavy civils, industrial buildings)
  • Ability to challenge designs and influence senior stakeholders
  • Broad understanding of structural, geotechnical and construction methods
  • Ideally Chartered (MICE / MIStructE), but strong non-chartered candidates considered
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment
