Responsibilities
- Account for the execution of procurement activities, including negotiations, preparation of electronic requests for proposals and electronic auctions, and value capture administration, supporting global procurement efforts across the Corporation for Capital and Engineering Services.
- Develop strong working relationships within the procurement team and key stakeholders to ensure appropriate inputs and outputs and compliance with Category Strategies.
- Effectively enable Business Units and functional partners to maximise their value and exceed their objectives by driving the flow of information and providing guidance for best‑in‑class procurement activities globally.
- Adhere to and promote the Global Procurement Organisation model in all aspects.
- Support the Category Manager of Capital & Engineering Services to execute global sourcing activities throughout the Corporation.
- Align with Finance business partners throughout all aspects of the capital approval, review, and procurement process.
- Incorporate environmental and sustainability principles in all procurement activities.
- Create detailed negotiation plans and conduct effective negotiations.
- Create an environment of continual value creation with a world‑class supply base.
- Identify and drive cost‑savings and cost‑avoidance opportunities.
- Manage risk through partnership and contracting, ensuring contractual arrangements follow policy, process and governance for negotiations, contract approval and execution.
- Recommend new sources of goods and services for the Corporation.
- Minimise working capital of the Corporation using strategies such as leasing agreements and extended payment terms.
- Generate business case reports to document projects that create value for the Corporation.
- Ensure relevant KPIs and KRIs are met or exceeded.
- Obtain tiered pricing wherever possible for unit volume ranges.
- Follow a communication plan for information flows to and from all stakeholders, and participate in internal and external meetings in line with that plan.
- Ensure sourcing is conducted on a global scale to create value from suppliers.
- Minimise total cost of ownership whilst maximising value to the Corporation.
- Provide management reports as requested.
- Demonstrate leadership in the observance of site safety requirements.
- Conduct business with the highest level of integrity, ensuring compliance with the Code of Ethics and Business Conduct.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering, or a related major.
- Recognised qualification in procurement or an equivalent preferred.
- 3+ years’ experience in Capital, Engineering Services, or Facilities Procurement.
- Practical experience in e‑sourcing and running eRFP, eRFQ, eRFI, forward and reverse auctions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
- Experience in the Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences industry preferred.
- Solid working knowledge of ERP systems such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365), Oracle or SAP, and MRP an advantage.
- Leading experience and knowledge in negotiation preparation and execution.
