Market Data Analyst, London

We are hiring a Market Data Analyst to join our team in London. In this role you will help evaluate and onboard cross‑asset class data feeds for our Venue Analytics, Transaction Cost Analysis (TCA) and Trade Surveillance products. You will work closely with Product, Data and Development teams to deliver proof of concepts that guide project roadmaps and enrich our product offering for clients such as investment banks, brokers, wealth/account managers and exchanges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop global market data and referential data coverage: onboard new market venues across fixed income, derivatives, equities/ETFs, FX and crypto; maintain and enrich a reference database covering global cross‑asset market metadata, instrument listings and company fundamentals.
  • Improve and evolve data quality assurance procedures to deliver high‑quality, robust information to downstream applications.
  • Collaborate with the Application Support team to resolve data delivery and processing issues.
  • Feed management: liaise with vendor networks to identify mandatory feed changes and develop implementation plans for existing feeds.
  • Research upcoming market microstructure changes and model how the business can benefit.
  • Conduct analyses of data and construct accurate, insightful reporting.
  • Maintain clear lines of communication with stakeholders on feed projects and product development.
  • Support analytics across asset classes, including approaches to TCA and instrument‑level performance measurement.
  • Respond to client requests for new market coverage.

What you bring to ISS STOXX

  • Minimum three years of experience in data management and analysis.
  • Degree in finance, mathematics or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Proven experience with financial market data and/or referential data.
  • Ability to work with, manipulate and analyze large datasets such as Level 2 and Level 3 order‑book data.
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel (macros, pivot tables, functions and charts).
  • Experience with analytical tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Jupyter, and familiarity with REST APIs is desirable.
  • Programming skills: intermediate SQL and Python; object‑oriented programming experience is a bonus.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to understand technically complex problems.
  • Strong communication and written skills with the ability to build professional relationships at all levels.
  • Proven ability to work well under pressure and adapt to changing priorities and complex challenges.
  • Knowledge of data‑modeling techniques (both supervised and unsupervised), and an understanding of AI and goodness‑of‑fit measures, highly desirable.
