Building Maintenance & Facilities Manager
Salary: £16,094 – £16,885 per annum (Full Time: £28,824 – £28,142) (G04)
Work base: Nant BH Outdoor Education Centre
Nant BH Outdoor Education Centre is one of two residential Centres which make up the North Wales Outdoor Education Service. The Centre is situated in the Gwydir Forest, near Betws y Coed, in the Snowdonia National Park. The Centre delivers a range of residential and day outdoor education courses for primary and secondary aged students.
Due to the retirement of the long‑standing previous manager, we have split the maintenance post between the two centres. This role manages facilities at Nant BH Centre and oversees facilities at Pentrellyncymer.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing a fleet of minibuses, including ensuring safe operation and maintenance.
- Ensuring all buildings and grounds meet current best practice and safety regulations.
- Organising contractors for repairs and maintenance.
- Managing support staff of cooks and cleaners.
- Supporting course delivery by keeping buses and centres ready and in good repair.
- Understanding the needs of the courses being delivered.
Post details: Hours: 22.2 hours per week, split over 3 to 5 days. Working pattern to be agreed by the Head of Centre.
Qualifications:
- Experience in building and vehicle management.
- Ability to drive a minibus (D1+E licence).
- Good communication skills in English; Welsh language desirable.
