Overview

As an Advanced Physiotherapy Practitioner, you will play a pivotal role in assessing, diagnosing, and managing complex cases across primary or secondary care settings. You will work autonomously, lead clinical pathways, and contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives. You will work closely with Consultant physiotherapists to support and coordinate clinical education, act as an expert in service management, and provide advisory support to patients, GPs and Consultants.

Responsibilities

  • Assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions for a caseload of patients with varying diagnoses and highly complex needs, using evidence‑based, patient‑centred principles in a defined clinical area.
  • Lead clinical pathways and manage clinical education within the service.
  • Provide advisory support to patients and other healthcare professionals.
  • Administer appropriate equipment and aids as delegated by clinical staff.
  • Support patients during therapeutic/rehabilitative activities as delegated by clinical staff.
  • Participate in regular formal and informal training, clinical reasoning sessions and case conferences.
  • Perform administrative and cleaning duties as appropriate.

Qualifications and Experience

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Physiotherapy.
  • Registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) as a physiotherapist.
  • At least 2–3 years of progressive physiotherapy experience in a primary or secondary care setting.
  • Experience within the Health/Fitness industry is desirable.
