Band 7 ‑ £52,845 to £61,466 per annum
Plus Distant Islands Allowance of £1,461 per annum

An exciting opportunity with NHS Western Isles to join the Public Health Team. You may be a nurse or an allied health professional and will work from the Health Board Office in Stornoway, Scotland.
Responsibilities
- Handle health protection enquiries and situations during working hours and out‑of‑hours by supporting the on‑call rotation (typically undertaken from home).
- Manage respiratory illnesses, food‑borne infections, outbreaks on cruise ships visiting the Western Isles, and environmental hazards such as water contamination.
- Support the management of environmental hazards, including outbreaks of water contamination.
- Work with clinical and non‑clinical colleagues internally and in partner organisations such as environmental health officers, laboratory and pharmacy staff, infection prevention and control team members, and other healthcare professionals.
- Contribute to the development and oversight of screening and immunisation programmes in the Western Isles, and work with a range of stakeholders to maximise uptake of screening and immunisations.
- Line‑manage two staff within the smoking cessation service, which sits within the Public Health Team.
- Receive full training on the systems and processes required during induction.
