What you’ll be doing

The opportunity

As a Contracts Engineer (Sub Agent), you’ll manage the safe and efficient delivery of multiple Balvac schemes, coordinating internal teams and specialist subcontractors to achieve programme, quality and cost outcomes. You’ll report to Balvac Contracts/Project Managers and the Operations Manager.

What You Need

  • Manage day‑to‑day delivery across assigned schemes, leading Balvac resources and subcontractors.
  • Ensure all works meet contract drawings, specifications and the Project Management Plan (PMP).
  • Oversee site dimensional control and provide facilities for accurate setting out.
  • Produce/review method statements; drive safe, efficient construction.
  • Compile and control project documentation (e.g. PMP, PVPMP, ITP, Construction Phase Plan).
  • Build and manage programmes, tracking progress and productivity.
  • Champion Zero Harm, applying HS&E plans and preparing/reviewing risk assessments; lead behavioural safety on site.
  • Monitor performance, report progress, and proactively resolve engineering issues.
  • Maintain robust construction records, including O&M manuals and as‑built drawings.

Who we’re looking for

What you’ll bring

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Civil Engineering (preferred).
  • Practical experience delivering structural/specialist repair projects on concrete infrastructure.
  • Strong technical understanding of structural repairs.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple teams and manage multi‑scheme costs.
  • Confident communicator who can influence stakeholders to hit targets.
