Salary: £45,000 – 55,000 per year
Requirements
- At least 5 years experience in a hands‑on enterprise infrastructure support role.
- Excellent understanding and experience managing Active Directory.
- Certified in at least one of the following: MCSA Windows Server, VCP Cloud Foundation, or Azure Administrator Associate.
- Ability to attain relevant security clearance (SC clearance).
- Working knowledge of HA, DR, and N+1 enterprise architecture.
- Excellent organisational, prioritisation, and time management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to research and recommend solutions for technical issues.
- Must stay current with IT technologies, solutions, and best practices.
- Working experience with Azure cloud platforms.
- Excellent problem‑solving skills.
- Ability to communicate complex technical details to a non‑technical audience.
- Desirable: certification in CCNA, MCSE, VCP Datacentre, or Azure Architect.
- Desirable: experience with SQL and clusters.
- Desirable: SAN and storage management experience.
- Desirable: Windows Cluster management experience.
- Desirable: administration of load balancers.
- Desirable: knowledge of infrastructure and application security.
Responsibilities
- Work with and be part of the infrastructure team to ensure business objectives are achieved.
- Implement, manage, and support internal IT infrastructure at an enterprise level.
- Proactively support the business and ensure hardware and software systems are patched and up to date.
- Use the company ticketing system daily to respond to, communicate, and document incidents, problems, and service requests in a timely and professional manner.
- Create, update, and maintain installation, implementation, maintenance, and configuration documentation as needed.
- Support the wider business by ensuring system performance, uptime, customer SLAs, and internal metrics are met.
- Abide by and comply with company compliance standards, policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Support multiple environments, including on‑prem office, datacentre, virtual environments, networks, physical, and cloud solutions as required.
- Participate in paid out‑of‑hours support as part of the on‑call rota.
- Travel occasionally between offices and datacentres.
- Use expertise with Windows Servers, Azure cloud, VMware hypervisors, and SAN storage to maintain business continuity.
- Take part in incident escalations to recover or prevent business disruptions.
- Proactively assist in capacity, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
