Your role as a Commercial Risk Broking Apprentice:

Join one of our Commercial Risk team as a permanent colleague from day one and discover how we help our clients identify their risks and ensure they have the best possible cover to mitigate them.

Prepare to make an immediate impact as you demonstrate your passion for customer service. You’ll quickly learn about our business and the broking process, develop your professional skills and build strong relationships with clients and colleagues.

What your day could look like:

Supporting the delivery of client-facing transactional service activities

Assisting in the day-to-day running of client risk and insurance programmes

Contributing proactively to client satisfaction, retention and profitability

Carrying out administrative tasks contributing to the broking process

Inputting data accurately to maintain management information

Your Development

As an Aon Apprentice you will be enrolled onto our development programme when you join. This programme is built around 3 core elements :

Business learning u2013 on the job learning and experiences giving you the opportunity to develop your knowledge and understanding of the team and solution line you have joined

Centralised learning – UK apprentices complete in an Aon Induction, monthly webinars, business skills training and workshops; all designed to help you develop your knowledge of Aon, build your confidence and your network across our business

Professional Qualifications u2013 we want you to be as successful as possible, so weu2019ll fully support your study towards your Level 4 Insurance Apprenticeship and Certificate in Insurance through Chartered Insurance Institute (https://www.cii.co.uk/) professional qualification. To support you as you study for your exams, youu2019ll receive paid study leave, plus an extensive range of study and tuition materials.

We would expect you to be promotion ready within 24 months and you will continue to grow your career in the Insurance industry. You will also be able to continue your studies for the CII qualifications. Alongside the interactive development programme weu2019ve mentioned above, youu2019ll have the chance to explore different career paths. Once you have completed your 18-month Apprenticeship, your training and development doesnu2019t stop there, you will continue your professional development taking on more client responsibilities.

112 UCAS points from your top 3 A Levels (or equivalent) or 280 UCAS points for exams sat prior to 2017 (excluding General Studies) i.e. BBC

We recognise the value for our Early Career colleagues of being in the office environment from the beginning of their programme. As a new apprentice, you will spend the first 6 months based in the office to support your learning, development, and progression. This will enable you access to support from managers, collaborate with colleagues as well as grow your network across Aon. After completing this initial training period, you will then have the opportunity to work more flexibly, spending at least 4 days face to face in the Aon office or with clients.

Right to work

Our apprentices are on permanent contracts from day one. We welcome applications from candidates who have their own right to work within the UK where you can maintain and demonstrate your right to work throughout the duration of your employment. This may include pre-settled or settled status from the EU Settlement Scheme u2013 or if you have applied and you are waiting for a decision.

Video Interview

Preparation matters, so youu2019ll have up to 10 days (240 hours) from receiving your invitation to record and submit your video interview.

Rest assured: Every video interview is reviewed by a real member of our recruitment team, not an AI system.

Youu2019ll typically hear back from us within 2-3 weeks after submitting your interview, though times may vary depending on the number of applications.

Assessment Centres

Our assessment centres are held in person at the Aon office closest to the location you applied for.

Please note: Due to the large number of applications, not every candidate who completes a video interview will be invited to an assessment centre..

If selected, youu2019ll have 7-14 daysu2019 notice to help you arrange any travel.

We will the Assessment Centre at our Leeds office in early may (Date TBC) so please make every effort to attend if invited.

We reimburse reasonable travel costs (such as standard class train tickets). Flights and hotels are only covered if agreed in advance.

At the assessment centre stage, your CV and cover letter will be shared with hiring managers. This helps them get a fuller picture of you as a candidateu2014but these documents are not used for initial screening.
