About the Company

We are a growing manufacturer of certified fire doors supplying residential and specialist construction projects across the UK. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Compliance & HSE Manager to oversee the company’s health & safety, environmental compliance, and product certification requirements.

This role is critical in ensuring the business operates safely, legally and in compliance with all regulatory and certification requirements relating to the manufacture of fire doors.

Role Overview

The Compliance & HSE Manager will take responsibility for maintaining the company’s health and safety systems, managing regulatory compliance, and ensuring all product certifications and factory production control systems remain fully compliant with relevant standards.

Key Responsibilities

Health & Safety

Manage and maintain the company Health & Safety Management System

Ensure compliance with UK health and safety legislation

Conduct regular risk assessments and safety audits

Investigate incidents and implement preventative measures

Deliver safety training and toolbox talks to staff

Product Compliance & Certification

Manage compliance with fire door certification schemes

Maintain Factory Production Control (FPC) systems

Ensure compliance with relevant fire test standards and product certifications

Maintain technical documentation and certification records

External Audits

Prepare and manage annual certification audits

Act as the key contact for certification bodies and external auditors

Manage and close out any non-conformances

Environmental Compliance

Manage environmental procedures including waste management and chemical storage

Ensure compliance with environmental regulations where applicable

Compliance Documentation

Maintain compliance policies, procedures and records

Ensure all documentation required for certification schemes is maintained

Skills & Experience Required

Essential:

Experience in Health & Safety and compliance management within manufacturing

Strong understanding of UK HSE regulations

Experience managing external audits or certification schemes

Excellent organisational and documentation skills

Knowledge of ISO standards such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001 or ISO 45001

NEBOSH Certificate or equivalent qualification

Desirable:

Experience working with fire door certification schemes (BM TRADA, Certifire, IFC or similar)
