Consultant, Capabilities, Organisation Effectiveness & Agility

London, United Kingdom

Baringa is a global consulting firm that partners with leaders to drive change and create value. We help clients deliver with greater confidence across industries such as energy, financial services, government, consumer products, pharmaceuticals and technology. Our practice combines strategy, transformation and operational excellence powered by advanced technology, data, AI and digital innovation.

Our Organisation Effectiveness & Agility practice is looking for an experienced consultant to join the team.

We help clients build adaptive, effective, and sustainable organisations by shaping people, processes and technology into future‑ready operating models and agile ways of working.

What you will be doing

Our role focuses on translating strategic priorities into practical operating models, governance frameworks and structures that drive sustainable impact.

  • Enterprise‑wide Operating Model Design and Implementation: Supporting the design and implementation of future‑fit target operating models, organisational structures and governance frameworks that align with strategic priorities and enable agility.
  • Cost & Productivity Optimisation: Redesigning operating models to improve efficiency, reduce costs and unlock long‑term value through streamlined processes and resource allocation.
  • Integration & Capability Build: Supporting complex organisational transitions such as mergers, acquisitions or new business units by embedding capabilities that enable smooth integration and operational effectiveness.
  • Ways of Working & Agility: Evolving processes, decision‑making, and funding models to foster collaboration, innovation and responsiveness at scale.
  • Data‑Driven Insights: Applying analytics and diagnostic tools (e.g., OrgVue) to assess spans, layers, costs and workforce performance, translating insights into actionable design options.

Examples of work you’ll do:

  • Design future‑ready operating models that balance efficiency, agility and innovation.
  • Assess structural choices, clarifying trade‑offs between centralisation, decentralisation and hybrid models to enable effective decision‑making.
  • Contribute to end‑to‑end operating model transformations, including governance design.
  • Embed structures and ways of working that ensure continuity and growth during organisational transitions.
  • Deliver cost and productivity optimisation programmes through redesign of processes, spans and layers without compromising agility.
  • Use data and diagnostic tools to understand organisational performance and translate insights into practical design options.
  • Build lasting capability through leadership alignment, behavioural change and practical tooling.

Your skills and experience

  • Proven consulting experience in enterprise transformation, including operating model design and delivery.
  • Strong understanding of organisational design and governance, with the ability to shape structures, processes and decision‑making frameworks.
  • Experience working with stakeholders in large, complex organisations navigating disruption, emerging technology adoption and strategic change.
  • Knowledge of transformation levers such as cost optimisation, capability building and integration to enable sustainable organisational change.
  • Familiarity with delivery tools and methods (e.g., OrgVue, Jira, Planview, OKRs or Agile at Scale) to support execution at pace.
  • Confidence working with leaders and teams through ambiguity, helping them adapt to new ways of working and organisational models.
  • A hypothesis‑driven approach to problem solving – asking the right questions, simplifying the complex and staying focused on impact.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, client‑facing role with shifting priorities and multiple workstreams.

What a career at Baringa will give you

  • Generous annual leave policy: five weeks of annual leave, fully available at the beginning of each year, plus an additional two weeks paid leave after five years continuous service.
  • Flexible working: hybrid policy and more flexibility around taking unpaid leave.
  • Corporate responsibility days: three days per year to support social and environmental causes.
  • Wellbeing fund: annual People Fund to support individual wellbeing through chosen activities.
  • Profit share scheme: all employees participate in the Baringa Group Profit Share Scheme.
