BMS Engineer

Location: London, East London, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland

The Role

We are seeking a skilled BMS Engineer to join a high‑profile site in East London. You’ll play a key role in ensuring all environmental conditions are maintained via the Building Management System (BMS), supporting critical infrastructure and building performance across a complex, technically advanced environment.

This is a Monday–Friday role, offering a great work‑life balance while still working on a prestigious, mission‑critical site.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain BMS systems, ensuring optimal performance of building services
  • Respond to and resolve system alarms and faults, escalating where necessary
  • Support planned preventative maintenance (PPM), reactive works, and breakdown repairs
  • Carry out fault finding using graphical data and alarm trends
  • Ensure plant faults and defects are identified and rectified promptly
  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities and ensure timely completion of documentation
  • Use and update the Computerised Maintenance Management System (e.g. Planon)
  • Prepare and follow Method Statements and Risk Assessments to ensure safe working practices
  • Operate within a Permit to Work system and adhere to all health & safety procedures
  • Build strong working relationships with internal teams, subcontractors, and the client
  • Contribute to maintaining a safe, compliant, and professional working environment

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience working with BMS systems (monitoring and operation essential)
  • Strong knowledge of building services (electrical/mechanical systems)
  • Experience in fault diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of M&E systems
  • Ability to interpret alarms and system data effectively
  • Experience working with CMMS systems such as Planon (or similar)

Qualifications

  • Formal training in Electrical, Mechanical or BMS systems
  • Recognised Health & Safety qualification (e.g. IOSH) – desirable
