Introduction

We have an exciting opportunity for an apprentice to join our Youth Services Team working at centres located in the Lytham Road, Grange Park, Fleetwood and Bispham areas. You will be part of a highly skilled professional team, working on the front line, delivering a variety of sessions that directly improve young people’s lives.

About the Employer

The Boathouse Youth works with children and young people aged 5 to 17 from socio‑economically deprived communities across Blackpool, helping them tackle the challenges they’re experiencing. Youth participation is at our heart. Our Youth Services Team are on the front line, delivering well‑thought‑out programmes that facilitate a safe space to improve mental well‑being, promote positive behaviours, support educational growth and encourage a healthy lifestyle.

What You’ll Do

  • Plan and deliver educational and/or recreational activities for children and young people.
  • Promote healthy nutrition and active lifestyles, and support enrichment activities.
  • Build and maintain genuine professional relationships with youth, staff, volunteers, parents and other stakeholders.
  • Create a welcoming, safe and informal learning environment.
  • Support indoor and outdoor activities for 5-17 year olds, such as writing, storytelling, cycling, boating, sport, camping and social action projects.

Training Outcome

The successful candidate may have the opportunity to progress to a higher level apprenticeship or full‑time employment with the organisation.
