Title: Painter/Decorator
Location: HMP Wymott, Ulnes Walton, Leyland, Preston, Lancashire, PR26 8LW.
Base salary: £28,792 – £33,532.
Standard hours: 39 hours per week. Staff work on a rota basis between 08:00 – 17:00. Weekend duty 1 in 4 with 15% overtime allowance.
Responsibilities
- Planned and reactive paint work in all areas of the prison.
- Responsibility for care and maintenance of tools, materials and additional company property.
- Compliance with relevant Health & Safety policies, instructions and directives.
- Guiding and supporting prisoners in painting and decorating as part of the CRED programme.
Qualifications
- Comfortable working alongside prisoners.
- Good awareness and understanding of personal health and safety, method statements and risk assessments.
- Sharing best practice with others.
- NVQ level 3 in Painting and Decorating (NVQ level 2 also considered).
- Previous relevant work‑related experience.
- Prison security clearance including standard DBS required (Amey will support the process).
