We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionateSENTutorto join and supportSENstudents in a variety of settings across Wiltshire.
Role Overview:As anSENTutor, you will work closely with students withSEN, offering tailored, one-to-one or small group support. You will create and implement tailored learning plans, using a range of teaching strategies and resources to meet the needs of students. This is a great opportunity for someone passionate about making a difference in the lives of pupils and helping them achieve their academic and personal goals. The students may have a Wide range ofSEN, such as Autism (ASD), ADHD, Dyscalculia, Dyslexia,SEMH needs, such as Emotional based school avoider, mental health needs. The main focuses arecore subjects and relationship building.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high-quality, personalizedtutoring to students withSEN
- To assess learners needs and plan and implement tailored and structured programs of learning in line with young persons EHCP outcomes
- Make sure the childrenfeel safe and secure
- Work closely with teachers and parents to track student progress and adjust learning plans accordingly.
- Foster an inclusive, positive, and encouraging learning environment.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to parents and educational professionals.
- Help students develop their social, emotional, and academic skills.
- Promote independent learning and help students build confidence in their abilities.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (ideally 2 years experience)
- Knowledge of differentSENcategories (e.g., autism, dyslexia, ADHD, speech and language needs) and how to deal with them best.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and school staff.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to a wide range of learning needs.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
- A passion for education and helping children achieve their full potential.
- A teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS) or relevantSENtraining (e.g.,SENDCO,SENTA experience) is desirable but not essential
