HGV Technician

HGV Technician Location: LondonHours: 08:00-16:30 (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday)Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum (DOE) + overtime at 1.5x basic rate   An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced HGV Technician to join a leading commercial vehicle service centre in the London area. This permanent role offers excellent earning potential, structured working hours, and access to continuous training and development within a modern, well-equipped workshop.   Key Responsibilities

•   Completing all mechanical and electrical repairs following diagnostic reports
• Carrying out component replacements, system repairs, and correction of identified faults
• Performing routine servicing, maintenance inspections, and safety checks
• Ensuring all repair work aligns with manufacturer guidelines and standards
• Following detailed job instructions provided by senior or diagnostic technicians
• Completing job cards, repair documentation, and digital service records
• Working efficiently to support workshop productivity and turnaround times
• Assisting with complex repairs when required and supporting junior technicians
• Maintaining high standards of workshop safety and vehicle compliance

  Skills & Experience

• Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair (NVQ, City & Guilds, or IMI).
• Proven experience working on HGVs or trailers in a dealership or fleet environment.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills with attention to quality and safety.
• Full UK driving licence (HGV desirable but not essential).
• Professional attitude, teamwork, and commitment to high service standards.
